“No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader. No surprise for the writer, not surprise for the reader.” Robert Frost
Note: I had the School Board vote date wrong yesterday–it has been postponed until the 12th. Keep praying.
One of the great joys of my life now is watching our little granddaughter explore the world. As an adorable 20 month old, she is showing me anew what today’s Daily Vitamin means, that of being a new creature, dependent, yet displaying her free will as she becomes part of the world around her. From It’s a God Thing! page 145: “Once…..
“Once Christ enters a person’s life, that person becaumes a new creature. We call it being born again. It’s like the person becomes childlike, totally trusting God for his life, his thoughts, his career, his choices, his future, his family, everything.” (It’s a God Thing!)
Enjoyed my tutoring today–a 6th grade article about women inventors: windshield wipers! who knew?, and completing a fractured folk tale: The Three Little Pigs done by a 4th grader with cats and dogs. Fun. I really like the statement on my Daily Reflections page from Guidepost today: “We don’t always need to know where we are going as long as we know whom we are following. God is in control. Even when we wind up in strange places or unusual…..
In a rush to go tutor kids at Covenant Christian School. Asking you to pray today for decisions by the Brevard County School Board tonight which can directly affect my kids, both orchestra music teachers in the district, and many families affected by cuts of some $30 million. Also, pray for our Christian school as registration drive for next year begins today. I’ll try to write later. Have a Christ-filled day of Godincidences! b
“When we’re in the will of God, He just makes things happen that astound us. We can’t plan for it; we’re not surprised by it; it’s just the way it is. All hings work together for good to those who love Him. He uses good things and bad things, and it’s usually not until much later that we see just how providential it all was! It’s a God Thing!” page 160 It’s a God Thing!
Watching the Super Bowl is just a tradition, right? We are curious beings, vicariously seeking thrills of accomplishment, with all the attendant adulation, public worship, glitz, glamour, and pursuit of what’s next. Excitement, even if it belongs to others in the reality of the situation, makes our hearts beat a bit louder. We even cheer at an unexpected long run or exceptional catch of flying leather against all odds.
I’m reminded of how we used to “hover watch” our kids…..
“I believe God made us, loves us, want us to worship Him, and will one day answer all the questions we have when we come into His kingdom. The world is only the threshold to the eternal Kingdom where God says Jesus will reign in peace, love, and understanding, and that all th evils of the world, and all the tears, and death, and unhappiness will disappear. That’s a promise I can believe, hold onto, and understand, and it’s all…..
This morning’s worship time was enhanced because of the encouragement of several of our church members who conversed with me. Two told me they had written reviews for It’s a God Thing! on the Amazon site. They are amazing, and so welcome. Another told me he wants me to publish the promised Jobs Loss book because he’s going through the experience of recent forced retirement. He also told me he’s enjoyed reading my blog. That was an encouragement. Then, the…..
“I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong–that is, that you and I may be mutuall encouraged by each other’s faith.”
