Writing the “Think about it” section of my latest devotional guide. If your life seems fraught with confusion, may this be a blessing to you today: There is much confusion in the Bible, since God’s ways are not our ways. His ways are higher than our ways. He can see into the future; we cannot. He created order; we create chaos. He knows the ramifications of sin; we in our pride think we’re immune, somehow. Oh, that we truly understood…..
On this Lord’s Day, if you find yourself living a life of confusion, of discovering that distractions are attractions, why not come with me to worship the God of the universe, who does all things well? Covenant Church in Palm Bay is a great place to find answers and direction. 720 Emerson Drive. 10:30. Meanwhile, I think “My Psalm 213″”” might give us all some perspective. The sermon series is Ecclesiastes, where we’re discovering meaning. My Psalm 213 Almighty God,…..
Writing the chapter on conflict today for Life-Changing Water book. Since the entry of sin into the lives of Adam and Eve in Genesis, conflict in our world exists: man against God, man against man, injustice of every kind, and a host of negatives from greed, to murder, to prejudice, to misunderstandings, to outright rebellion. May the words of this hymn teach us that someday, it will be different: (Hail to the Lord’s Anointed, by James Montgomery and T. Tertius…..
Covenant Church gathered together last evening for our Coming Together event uniting the Beachside and Palm Bay campuses. It was a time of food, fellowship, worship, sharing, and testimonies. May we continue to praise our Sovereign Lord in this new day. Here is a portion of “My Psalm 201.” In particular, we bless the many in our congregation who are grieving several deaths in our body in the last few months. May we continue to praise through our tears.

When storms of life come, and they indeed do, think about the things I’ve mentioned today in the Think About It section on trials and suffering. May it bless you today: For the purpose of this study, we are using storms and trials both literally and symbolically. Literally, Jesus controls the waves and storms and brings calm. Figuratively, any trials which come into our lives are anything but calm! However, since Christ is our source of peace, and the Father…..
For those facing trials today, read Psalm 55: 4-8. I offer “My Psalm 210 (revised 7.17.2017)
Dear Heavenly Father, Creator,, yet Abba, Father,
Your rich blessings fall on me
Like the thunderous showers of yesterday!
You drench me with Your love,
You saturate me with Your Presence
Whenever I call on Your Blessed Name.
From the desert of nonchalance,
You raise me to remembrance
Of noticing the big things, the little things,
And treating both with Thanksgiving.
You place…..
This promises to be a day of deep contrast. We celebrate the lives of two who have graduated to glory but leave grieving loved ones on earth: Christopher Mynhein, 24 years old, and Mildred Mundy, 95 years old. Both are with Jesus. We rejoice in that fact. I pray strength and love for these families. On the other hand, it is the marriage day of yet another. God knows our hearts. We are made in His image. He knows pain,…..
In honor of Jim Grimes, Merle Landrey, Shanna Hill, Mike Spencer’s mom, Mildred Mundy, Chris Mynheir:
My Psalm: Desperation to Deliverance
Almighty Father, strong to save
You deliver Your saints into Your eternal rest
When their job on earth is done
When You call them to Your blessed side
Leaving us bereft of their presence.
Today show us wonders You provide
That we might worship You
In redeemed spirit and in truth,
Though our hearts are heavy
Our eyes…..
n my research for my upcoming book, Life-Changing Waters, I am being led to Scriptures about weather, and God’s control over every aspect of it, and of our lives. Read this passage from Job today, and think about God’s sovereignty, and by contrast, the petty things which sometimes occupy our lives. Then listen to Pastor Jerry Klemm’s sermons on the book of Ecclesiastes at www.covenantpalmbay.org/Groups/1000031174/Sermons.aspx. Have a great day in the Lord!
Then the LORD answered Job…..
From one of the books I’m writing, to be called Life-Changing Waters: A Devotional Guide, a “My Psalm” about God’s amazing 722 Biblical references to water in the Bible. My study is quite the adventure. I didn’t know snow and ice were part of the experiences of The Holy Land, but indeed they are found in Psalms, Job, Isaiah, and Micah, and clouds and God’s use of them are in stories of Elijah, Moses, the Ascension and the Second Coming……
