Even the twenty-ninth time, proofreading my newest book is a thrill. The proof copies arrived, and opening the box and seeing it in print is a thrill. Even finding the typos and deciding on changing some things here and there is rewarding, trying to make the book the best it can be.
Already I have ideas, and actually have begun to write, the next one, from the character Suzanne’s point…..

Sam’s Sea Stars Saga is the third book in a series following Seashell Saga told from the point of view of Kaley, a sixteen-year-old, then Cher’s Seaside Saga, told by her mother. All are stories set in Melbourne Beach, FL and tell the story of the Wentworth family’s fostering and adopting sibling groups adventures. Each chapter begins with a picture of a seven-footed starfish, formally known as a sea star, which represents the…..
We are living in a time of unrest in our country. That, of course, is nothing new. That is what mortal life is. However, I, for one, am hearted to read in Revelation, that Satan’s power is somewhat bound and limited. Else, we could not survive His onslaught. Without the superior power of our sovereign God, we would be utterly without hope.
The Apostle…..
I am convinced that nothing
can ever separate us form God’s love.
neither death, nor life,
neither angels nor demons,
neither our fears for today
nor our worries about tomorrow—
not even the powers of hell
can separate us from God’s love.
no power in the sky above
or in the earth below—
indeed, nothing in all creation
will ever be able
to separate us from the love of God
that is revealed in Christ Jesus,…..
This side of Easter, this side of the Crucifixion, how can we say anothing but “Jesus Alone” is all we need for our salvation, and praise God for the resurrection of Jesus, His ascension to heaven where He rules, and the sending of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost so that we can have Jesus in our hearts from now until eternity.
We need not prove ourselves to God. We don’t need elaborate rules to follow, or duties to perform. We…..
It’s Here! Easter has arrived. The longing for this day through forty days of Lent ends in the celebration of the greatest event in the earth’s history: the resurrection of God’s Son, Jesus, the Christ. Hallelujah!
While some of the traditions of Easter follow ancient celebrations of spring after a cold, long winter of hibernation, it is fitting that both occasions occur simultaneously. The…..

Elizabeth Cecilia Clephane wrote ten hymns in the years between 1872-1874 in a collection called Family Treasury. From what I’ve read on the website Hymnary.org, her hymns appear in hymnbooks in at least ten languages throughout the world, and this is one of my favorites. On Good Friday, it makes the crucifixion…..
I’ll be cleaning the house this week, preparing for Easter. I’ll fluff up the bouquet of silk flowers, bright yellow ones with forsythia, reminding me of springtime in the North. I’ll put out the iris dish and the vase with purple iris on it, and hang the iris paintings on the wall behind it. I love spring…..
Most of us have weeks that are busy, perhaps significant, and looking at our calendars, we sometimes wonder where the strength will come from to accomplish our tasks. Jesus had such a week, his last as He faced the cross. He had the joy of adulation on Palm Sunday when He was hailed as king. Unlikely, though, He was riding on a…..
According to Luke 1:32, “No word from God will every fail.” His plan for salvation can be traced from the beginning to the end of Scripture. God’s attributes are revealed on every page: His sovereignty, His judgments, His mercy, His power, His righteousness, His patience, His healing, His love, His plan, His victory, His compassion, His benevolence, His presence with us.
No more picture of God in all His aspects can be seen in the events of Holy Week. He reveals…..
