My Psalm 158
O Lord, our Lord, how marvelous are Your works
In all the earth, Your Name in the universe.
We come in prayerful reverence before Your throne
As we are told to come, with our failures, our messes, our needs
Which seem so very real to us
Yet so petty in terms of eternity.
We know You hear our prayers, our concerns,
Even the thoughts we cannot express in words
And You, Abba Father, seek to answer according
To Your will, knowing the final outcomes we cannot see.
Today we bring before You broken marriages in need of Your healing touch.
We bring our sick and wounded, knowing that You can rebuild and repair.
We bring our concerns about the world torn by bitterness, tensions, wars
When we know You sent Your beloved Son to be our Prince of Peace.
These are too big for us, too difficult, but we know
Nothing is too difficult for You, for You are Omniscient, Omnipresent,
Our very present help in time of trouble, and the one who can calm our souls.
Thank You for being Very God, the Beginning and the End, the Almighty
And for the promise of Your love for us. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
