Entry plus book’s Afterward:
Day 30
Each year as we face the advent season, and indeed the second coming of Christ, we anticipate the arrival of Christ to show us God here on earth. Let us remember that of all the religions in the world, Christianity is the only one where God reaches down to man, rather than man trying to attain a knowledge and try to please his god.
Therefore, our attitude of gratitude must eternally be that Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, Very God of Very God, Son of God, Intercessor on our behalf, lived a perfect life so that we might experience God’s loving mercy and guidance for our mortal lives. And eventually, in His time, He will gather His saints to His eternal presence.
Today’s scripture: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” (John 3: 16-17)
Prayer: Lord, I am eternally thankful for Jesus and His mission to the world, and to me. Thank You for all the blessings You have provided, but for my salvation, the Utmost gift, I dedicate myself to an attitude of gratitude, to thanksliving, grateful beyond measure for Your love and acceptance of me. In Jesus’ redeeming Name. Amen.
Day 30 Scripture references that Jesus is Lord of Lords, King of Kings, and my Savior
“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks for for everything, in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5: 19-20)
“May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.” (Hebrews 13: 20-21)
“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (I Peter 4: 17)
“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.” (I John 15: 14-16)
Day 30 Thanksliving Album: Items, pictures, sketches, photos of praise for my Savior’s work in the world, a legacy of memories, a place I’ll return when I need reminders of evidence of His love for me in every situation.
Day 30 Thanksliving Journal The Presence of Christ
“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:14-16)

AFTERWARD:
It is my hope that once a habit is established for some 20 days, it is permanently part of our lives. The attitude of gratitude is one that is worth incorporating into our daily lives, so that we not only look at life positively, we remember on a daily, even moment by moment basis, to thank God for His manifold blessings. His Lordship of the universe is one big blessing, but even more, His care for each hair of our heads and each sparrow is beyond human comprehension.
Let us purpose to thank God for the parking place that shows up when we’re running late, for the perfect attendance award a child is able to earn, for the accidents which never happen, and for the delights of our senses, for the love and companionship of others, even pets, and for those who positively influence our lives.
Set off on this adventure, knowing there are no coincidences, there is no luck, for the Christian. There are only Godinstances, the pre-arranged circumstances which determine our part in God’s magnificent plan for our lives and for His sake.
Hopefully your album, especially, will be a legacy for your family. When they review what you found significant in your life, perhaps they too will begin to live a life of thanksliving, recognizing that God gives us perfect gifts through His sovereignty.
