GROWTH
My Psalm 208
Heavenly Father, Lover of my soul,
Thank You for showing me the pathway to salvation,
By bringing me face to face
With my need to come to You, Lord of the Universe,
Confessing my need for You,
Showing me in baby steps and giant leaps
That only in You is to be found the answers to questions
I didn’t even know to ask.
Thank You for sending Jesus to call for me
When in childlike innocence, I learned to walk with Him.
Thank you for the struggling steps I walked
Until I knew I could lean on His grace.
Thank you for the adolescent doubts and questions
When I thought I knew better than Your precepts,
For they taught me to grow in faith, and to know for sure
Your truths are indeed Truth.
Thank You for sustaining me on the milk of the Gospel
Until I was ready to totally commit my ways to You.
Like the tree and vine rooted for nourishment
I wish to grow my roots deep,
To know You more fully,
To trust You for everything
And to mature in the faith that I may bless others.
Thank You for loving even me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
