Celebrate ’21, Everyone! God’s Got This! In Matthew 11:28 we find great advice for a weary world, discouraged by COVID, cultural changes that keep us awake at night, the dreariness of winter, and few signs of peace, harmony, cooperation, and kindness. Jesus says: “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”
Those of us who worshipped yesterday found a time of sanctuary, a time of recalibrating. A chance to glimpse once again that this is not our home. We are merely travelers in this life. Susie Larson writes in “Blessings for Every Day,” these words: “May the Lord establish in you a healthy, divine rhythm of life. May He strengthen you in mind, body, and spirit. Where you’re broken, may He restore; where you’re weary, may He refresh; where you’re fearful, may He revive faith. May your coming days be far more blessed than your former days.” Go out an bless someone else’s day today. Send that card. Make that phone call. Send flowers, or just smell one in person or in thought. God bless.
