II Corinthians 1:3-4 says: 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. In our quest for peace and grace in 2022, we need to realize that there will not always be peace and grace, for sometimes we are in need of comfort during difficult circumstances. God says the purpose of suffering is so we can comfort others. Or because it produces patience and endurance, and that when we have traveled through dark valleys, we recognize that our strength alone did not bring us through, but that God did. It teaches us rely on His mighty power. Afterwards, we can share our testimony of God’s power and blessings.
The last two years have been difficult. The world faced a pandemic. It has become personal now that it has reached those near and dear to us. We have lost friends. It has threatened and almost conquered some. The consequences on our way of life are enormous. We have all been changed, and in many cases, not for the better. But, as of this morning, we are not at war. We are not without food, shelter, and necessities. We are blessed beyond belief, although we are wilted flowers. We’ve been touched by the frost of negativity.
God’s word says, “Comfort ye, my people.” He reigns victorious. His people will endure to praise Him. We can find His peace and grace if we ask Him to show it to us. May He bless your day.
