We’re having a “housing boom” in our neighborhood. In the last few weeks, we have seen more than ten new houses within a block of ours, with four on our street alone. I was reminded of a song I learned when I was in high school, oh, so many years ago. It is a prayer for others’ homes, and for ours. My goal is to make our neighborhood special. I have already welcomed three new residents. Three other houses are unfinished, but waiting for things like doors, roofs, wallboard, and other things in short supply. One of our neighbors produced a fireworks show the other night to rival any the city could produce. Although it scared our cat Daisy so much she hid under the bed, it was a spectacular way to bring neighbors together. Here is that prayer for you to pray over your neighborhood, and then, over our nation. We so need to honor God and bring our people together.
