Happy birthday, Mom. Remembering you with thanksgiving on what would have been your 106th birthday today. Thank you for the memories too numerous to count. You directly affected me in so many ways, and in spired me to write a version of your first book, which became “It’s a God Thing!” and later “It’s Surely a God Thing!”. My memoir, “Bless You Bouquets,” and your life story in “Her Name Was Bess,” have delighted readers in getting to know you and your life story. Your determination to write your “Angels of the bible” book gave me the courage to write after my retirement from teaching. You taught me to be a homemaker, a marriage partner, a mother, a mother-in-law, and best of all, a follower of our Lord. You nurtured my creativity and tempered my spontaneity so that I could channel my energy and accomplish my dreams and yours. Thank you, Mom, and enjoy your time, your eternal time, visiting with the angels you wrote about, and especially enjoy the cloud of witnesses with you in worshipping the Lord we love. If hugs can still happen, hug Dad, and LJ, and Richard, and Grandpa, and Grandpa, and send angels to guard us who are still in need of protection in this fallen world. Especially keep Kaley and Emily as they learn to trust God as they grow. Love and blessings, Mom.
