Happy Birthday, Happy New Year, Congratulations! These are expressions of good wishes we give to those we love, and with smiles, we help them celebrate the event. Celebration is good for our souls. It helps deter our thinking from things that can cause us pain, grief, distress, and all those other negative things we’d rather not deal with.
Sometimes, when we’re dealing with the negatives, remembering the better times bring us comfort. Today is my “baby sister’s” seventy-eighth birthday. She’s known her pile of negatives with health and financial concerns, but today I can honestly and lovingly say, in the title of Ainsley Earhardt’s new book title: “I’m So Glad You Were Born!” You are a loving, kind person, a wonderful musician, a creative and talented problem solver, a lover of animals, and a savvy lady who has helped many others overcome their difficulties in life. Perhaps it is because you’re compassionate and understanding, all great attributes.
My “Blessings for Every Day” desk calendar includes these words from Susie Larson: “May the Lord’s grace and power make you bold and courageous. May He remove from your midst sickness, despair, and disorder of every kind. May He bring clarity, peace, and joy to your heart and mind. And may your faith bring pleasure to His heart.” I couldn’t have said it better!
Today’s verse on my other desk calendar is just meant for you, too. “Dear friend, I am praying that ll is well with you and that your body is as healthy as I know your soul is.” from 3 John 2. I know God, and I, want you to be healthy–emotionally, physically, financially, and spiritually. May it be so. Amen and rich blessings on your special day.
To my other readers, may God truly bless you today because God is good all the time.

Hobbies, and probably future topics on her blog: gardening, symphonic music (especially supporting the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra as a volunteer and proud parent of a violinist, a cellist, and an oboist), singing, book clubs, and co-teaching a weekly small-group Bible study for seniors. She volunteers and substitute teaches at Covenant Christian School, and serves as a board member of the Best Yet Set senior group at church. Foundationally, she daily enjoys God's divine appointments called Godincidences, which show God's providence and loving kindness.
