I think we can agree that change is hard. Things get mixed up in memories, concerns, hopes, and what if’s.
I have not “blogged” lately. A lot has been happening, nonetheless. I have been concentrating on poetry and submitted three different collections for anthologies and contests in the last month, and my latest book for judging in a competition. In addition, we have had family celebrations galore, notably Kaley’s sixth grade celebration where she won about every prize there was to offer, several concerts, recitals, dance programs, and events that ended a very big school year for our Nancy and Paul and Mary, and our granddaughters. Coming up in June are birthdays, anniversaries, and a very big one, our decision to “downsize” and find a new place to live. No, we are not leaving the area, but the time has come to make significant changes.
In all of this, God is more than faithful. Psalm 5:11-12 is our reminded of that.
“Let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them sing joyful praise forever. Spread Your protection over them, that all who love Your name may be filled with joy. For You bless the godly, O Lord; You surround them with Your shield of love.”
We ask that you keep us in prayer as we make these significant changes. We pray for a good buyer who will love our home. We pray for a place where God can use us and we can interact with others who are living the “senior life.” We pray for financial things to work out. We pray our possessions will bless others as we rid ourselves of “stuff,” things that have blessed our lives, and we pray for the strength and energy to move for the eleventh time in our lives. This little home of ours is where we have spent the longest time we’ve been in one place in our almost 54-year marriage.
We’re making this decision while we still can. We covet your prayers. And we’d love to hear, “How can I help?” The task seems overwhelming, but we know further blessings are ahead.
