After all the hectic activity to get the house ready for photos and ready to “show” potential buyers, we took yesterday as a time to rest. Although we know the house must be heady at moments’ notice fo people to walk through, and we know how to handle that, we allowed ourselves a recuperation day. We needed it.
I couldn’t be much help. I am still hurting from my little falling incident the other day. I look like a battered woman–actually I am, with the stones around the lily pad doing the battering.
We even took time to play Five Crowns at lunchtime. Ev and I usually play a game after lunch, but it’s been over a week since we’ve done that. And we spent the afternoon watching Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride I I. Such fun.
Today the goal is to get Bedroom three packed so it shows well. It’s full of things we haven’t packed yet, and now that the railroad is taken down, we can actually work in that room to get it organized, throw out thigs we don’t want, donate others, and get on with the process.
Our son and family get back from their cruise today, go to a wedding in Deltona, and then will return to “life” here. Meanwhile, Ev and I will volunteer for two concerts tomorrow here and in Vero Beach, and sometime, we’ll get around to celebrating my birthday. When I turn 83, I can forego all the falderal, but family will probably insist. It won’t be on the day, though. Too much else going on.
And so, hopefully we’ll have an open house scheduled soon and get on with the next phase of life.
