There are things that make me smile. The well-wishes of friends who are cheering us on our way in this monumental housing situation, the helping hands who are making this whole thing possible, the sale of our home in four days to a buyer who will love it as we have, the seamless inspections and assessment, etc., and the hope that this whole thing will be over soon—we are so blessed.
Secondly, our small group has been in prayer for Dan Landrey. First, it was joy in his marriage. Then a mere month later, our bonding in grief at the death of his bride, and then our concern that the aortic valve he had received twelve years ago was failing. His attitude was that he was victorious in either outcome: if it could be repaired, he won, or if he was called to heaven, he won even better.
We rejoice that the surgery was successful, and that he goes home today to begin his recuperation and rehabilitation. God is good all the time.
Today, Kaley and her mom return from middle school camp they attended this week, hopefully renewed in spirit and blessed.
Additionally, our kids have inherited lots of treasures as we’ve downsized: Nancy, my Yamaha baby grand–I can no longer see well enough to read music–and some other things she will enjoy, and Paul will have his dad’s collection of well-used woodworking tools. Since Paul is rebuilding his kitchen, the timing is perfect.
We are signing the lease on our new place early next week and begin taking things there before our moving day. All is in answer to prayer. God has blessed us in amazing ways, and we are Thanksliving.
