THE CROSS
“The cross is undoubtedly the most well-known of all Christian symbols. Because of Christ’s death upon a cross, this cruel instrument of execution has become, to the believer, a beautiful statement of faith and hope. Even as the Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 6:14: ‘God forbid that I should glory, save the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.’”
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father,
On that cruel day when Jesus died, there was nothing beautiful about the cross. It was the symbol of shame and torture, the worst possible execution by the Romans.
Just three days later, it became a symbol of beauty and redemption, and we proudly wear it and display it as a reminder that Jesus conquered death.
Whenever we see this symbol, bring our hearts to attention so that we thank You for Jesus, we thank You for His willingness to die for us, and for the eternal life promised through His resurrection so that we can be reunited with You in eternity. In His Precious Name we pray. Amen.
