“I know that you are pleased with me, for my enemy does not triumph over me. In my integrity your uphold me and set me in your presence forever. Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.” Psalm 41: 11-13
Sometimes I need a little encouragement in walking with the Lord and trying to follow His will. Today is such a day. We are admonished in the New Testament to not be weary in doing good. Now, this is not meant to be a pat on the back, nor a prideful confession at all, but today I need to remember that I may have bitten off more than I can chew, so to speak.
I will have the grandchildren all day until their parents join us dinner time. It will be a long day. Additionally, I’ve invited a twelve-year-old from church to join us in a day of just doing life together. I don’t know this little girl very well, but do know that she has a very troubled past, is giving her grandmother fits, and needs to know the Lord to change her life around. I’m praying for opportunities to witness God’s love to her today, not in a preachy way, but just in living life together. Like the psalmist, who is saying he is besieged and feels vulnerable, I, in my own little world, feel the same with this little lady. Hopefully, our day together will be filled with happiness and joy, but I’m anticipating some obstacles.
So, may she see me as just as vulnerable as she is, but with one important difference: I know the loving arms of my savior and live in the confidence that He is with me no matter what. Pray with me for every word and action to be under the Spirit’s control so these three little ones I’ll spend the day with will be blessed to know His love through me, and let me never lose touch with the will of the Father who loves me more than any grandparent, friend, parent, or anyone else ever could this side of heaven and beyond. Amen and Amen.
