The choir at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Palm Bay, Florida has been preparing a special anthem for Sunday morning, December 21. It is Bethlehem Calls by Newsong. If you can’t come hear us in person, where each member of the choir fully expects the Holy Spirit to bring this message to everyone there, you can, of course, find it on YouTube. But this message is so very special, because it reminds us that God seeks to save us by sending His Son. This is a departure from every other faith system or religion out there. It’s not something WE do to worship. It is something God did for us that first Christmas, and does for us each time we call on His Son’s precious name. Use this as a worship aid for you this day of Advent, and if you are able, come hear us sing it on Sunday morning.
The star in the East said come The wise men everyone Heaven’s angel choir said come Come see the promised One
Christ is the Babe Who has come to save us all Save us all
O Come let us adore Him O come let us adore Him Bethlehem calls To the great and the small It’s Christmas, won’t you come
Now the heart of God says come To the broken and wounded ones No matter how far you’ve run His mercy calls out to come
He came so we could come He said come all you/ye weary ones Who would have thought That a king would leave His throne So we could come
O Come let us adore Him X4 Bethlehem calls To the great and the small It’s Christmas, won’t you comeThe star in the East said come The wise men everyone Heaven’s angel choir said come Come see the promised One
Christ is the Babe Who has come to save us all Save us all
O Come let us adore Him O come let us adore Him Bethlehem calls To the great and the small It’s Christmas, won’t you come
Now the heart of God says come To the broken and wounded ones No matter how far you’ve run His mercy calls out to come
He came so we could come He said come all you/ye weary ones Who would have thought That a king would leave His throne So we could come
O Come let us adore Him X4 Bethlehem calls To the great and the small It’s Christmas, won’t you come
If you can’t hear us share it with the congregation this week, you will find it on YouTube, of course, but live performance is always preferable, in my mind, because singers are sharing their heartfelt worship with a congregation awaiting God’s Spirit to touch each individual in his/her place of need.
Here are the words: “The star in the East said come; The wise men, everyone, Heaven’s angel choir said come. Come see the promised One. Christ is the Babe Who has come to save us al,l Save us all.
O Come let us adore Him, O come let us adore Him, Bethlehem calls To the great and the small, It’s Christmas, won’t you come?
Now the heart of God says, come; To the broken and wounded ones. No matter how far you’ve run, His mercy calls out to come.
He came so we could come, He said, ” Come all you/ye weary ones.” Who would have thought That a king would leave His throne, So we could come?
O Come let us adore Him Bethlehem calls To the great and the small It’s Christmas, won’t you come?”
It truly tells us of God’s searching for the lost ones by sending His Son as the Redeemer. Won’t you come?
