When I think about today’s Daily Vitamin (“Authentic success if knowing that if today were your last day on earth, you could leave without regret,” I wonder again, as I have lately, what legacy means. Do I want to be remembered as an overachiever who did not get it at all right? I was reminded at the writers’ conference that as a choleric-sanguine personality type person, I am driven to always do my best, but as a realist, I know I fail miserably at it. Aye, there’s the rub. St. Paul struggled with it too: the good I would do, I do not etc. Why can’t we just take things as they come like some of our more easy-going compatriots?
Well, just as God made us all different, he puts us where he wants us to be. It’s Godincidence, isn’t it? So, in my little way, I hope I can get the things done in this day which please Him, and can defer the other stuff to others. Then maybe everyone will feel free to express himself/herself in the way suitable for his/her situation. It’s refreshing that it’s not all up to me, for I surely would fall into the depression which is the other side of overachieving. So, I’ll continue to ask for the Lord’s guidance, continue to provide for my famiy, continue to market my book, continue to write, continue to feed my mind on important things which will help keep my creativity fueled, and hope at the end of the day I have added to my legacy, should this be my last day!
