I guess I like it when I can look at the calendar and , with some sort of assurance, I see plans laid out. Not so easy when we’re “planning” a move. there are so many uncertainties.
We, of course, have a checklist, of sorts. We know where we want to be, we have sort of a time issue–will the house sell just when Glanbrooke has a place for us? When will we have the house straight and orderly (it’s…..
One of the advantages of this hectic time of preparation to move is going through “stuff” we’ve accumulated and reliving past encounters with people and places. I found my high school yearbooks, and the ones from several of the schools where I served as yearbook advisor. Going back to the 1960’s and after in my teaching career and our kids’ school records has been enlightening. Oh, what yearbook editors could have done with computers!
I’ve found notes from friends, old…..
June 14th is not only Flag Day when our country honors our nation’s flag and what the Stars and Stripes mean to our history and our present day. We still have freedoms, although some are threatened, it seems, because many have sacrificed all they had, their dreams and their very lives for the country they loved. Some today still take up that challenge. We thank them.
But, it’s a special day for our family. It was my grandpa’s birthday, always…..
I think we can agree that change is hard. Things get mixed up in memories, concerns, hopes, and what if’s.
I have not “blogged” lately. A lot has been happening, nonetheless. I have been concentrating on poetry and submitted three different collections for anthologies and contests in the last month, and my latest book for judging in a competition. In addition, we have had family celebrations galore, notably Kaley’s sixth grade celebration where she won about every prize there was…..
Even the twenty-ninth time, proofreading my newest book is a thrill. The proof copies arrived, and opening the box and seeing it in print is a thrill. Even finding the typos and deciding on changing some things here and there is rewarding, trying to make the book the best it can be.
Already I have ideas, and actually have begun to write, the next one, from the character Suzanne’s point…..

Sam’s Sea Stars Saga is the third book in a series following Seashell Saga told from the point of view of Kaley, a sixteen-year-old, then Cher’s Seaside Saga, told by her mother. All are stories set in Melbourne Beach, FL and tell the story of the Wentworth family’s fostering and adopting sibling groups adventures. Each chapter begins with a picture of a seven-footed starfish, formally known as a sea star, which represents the…..
We are living in a time of unrest in our country. That, of course, is nothing new. That is what mortal life is. However, I, for one, am hearted to read in Revelation, that Satan’s power is somewhat bound and limited. Else, we could not survive His onslaught. Without the superior power of our sovereign God, we would be utterly without hope.
The Apostle…..
I am convinced that nothing
can ever separate us form God’s love.
neither death, nor life,
neither angels nor demons,
neither our fears for today
nor our worries about tomorrow—
not even the powers of hell
can separate us from God’s love.
no power in the sky above
or in the earth below—
indeed, nothing in all creation
will ever be able
to separate us from the love of God
that is revealed in Christ Jesus,…..
This side of Easter, this side of the Crucifixion, how can we say anothing but “Jesus Alone” is all we need for our salvation, and praise God for the resurrection of Jesus, His ascension to heaven where He rules, and the sending of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost so that we can have Jesus in our hearts from now until eternity.
We need not prove ourselves to God. We don’t need elaborate rules to follow, or duties to perform. We…..
It’s Here! Easter has arrived. The longing for this day through forty days of Lent ends in the celebration of the greatest event in the earth’s history: the resurrection of God’s Son, Jesus, the Christ. Hallelujah!
While some of the traditions of Easter follow ancient celebrations of spring after a cold, long winter of hibernation, it is fitting that both occasions occur simultaneously. The…..
