From one of the books I’m writing, to be called Life-Changing Waters: A Devotional Guide, a “My Psalm” about God’s amazing 722 Biblical references to water in the Bible. My study is quite the adventure. I didn’t know snow and ice were part of the experiences of The Holy Land, but indeed they are found in Psalms, Job, Isaiah, and Micah, and clouds and God’s use of them are in stories of Elijah, Moses, the Ascension and the Second Coming……
My Psalm 212 God Victorious
O Lord, Almighty, Giver of life, Master of Death,
We praise You for showing us courage
In times of trial.
We thank You for Your Word,
For stories of inspiration and faith,
For times when Your people called on Your Name,
Knowing You were with them in battle,
And showed Your power to the enemy.
We thank You for David, who without armor and sword
Attacked the braggart Goliath
With faith, not just…..
My Psalm 211
Almighty God, Everlasting Lord, King of the Universe,
I praise You this Lord’s Day for Your very presence
Every moment of every day and night,
And the joy of my salvation as Your child.
Thank You for Your hedge of protection,
For being the Rock of my Salvation
And my Eternal Hope.
Thank You for Your guidance for my family
And most recently for two friends I have entrusted to Your care.
I thank You…..
May these words from Psalm 62 bless your day as they already have me:
“My soul finds rest in God alone; My salvation comes from Him alone.
He alone is my rock and my salvation.
He is my fortress; I will never be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God.
He is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in Him at all times, O peoples;
Pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.
One thing…..
Thank God for my reading of Psalm 108 this morning. May it bless your day too. I have been dealing with some challenges lately that are bigger than me. But God provides miracles. Here’s what His word teaches me today: “My heart, O God, is steadfast. I will sing and make melody with all my soul. Awake, harp and lyre. I will awaken the dawn. I will praise You Lord among the nations. I will sing of You among the…..
Update: I have been assisting a dear sister-in-Christ’s legal battle against all odds in her divorce case. God provided an angel in the form of a compassionate and competent Christian lawyer who, as an answer to constant prayer these nine months, may see that my friend is treated fairly, finally. For this and other blessings, today’s My Psalm, number 210: My Psalm 210 Dear Heavenly Father, Creator of the Universe, yet Abba, Father, Your rich blessings fall on…..
With flaming tongues You anointed them
Your disciples, witnesses, that Pentecost day.
Like sheep abandoned, with no shepherd, no hope
They huddled, discouraged, in a hidden room
Wondering, bewildered, feeling so alone
After Christ’s ascension to His heavenly home
He promised a Comforter would come one day
They needed that miracle You brought, as do we.
Like a wind, fresh-blowing, You catch their attention
Again signs and wonders they’re blessed to observe
Perhaps there’s a new way to…..
from my new book, in progress, My Psalm 201
O Lord, Master of the Universe, Creator of all,
I worship Your Holy Name
And thank You for Your provision, Your protection,
For giving me life and breath.
I worship You in Spirit and in Truth,
And place my heart in Your hands
That I may serve You and dwell with You
All the days of my life, here and in Your Kingdom.
I thank You for creating…..
Bless you on this Lord’s Day. This hymn from Psalm 104 and set to poetry by Robert Grant in 1833 is one of my favorites.
“O worship the King all glorious above, O gratefully sing His power and His love;
Our shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days, Pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.
O tell of His might, O sing of His grace, Whose robe is the light and canopy space.
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds…..
MY PSALM 153:
O Lord of the Universe,
I come with humble heart before Your throne,
Knowing that in Your mercy, You hear my pleas,
Prepare my paths, provide for my every need.
You created the heavens and the earth
And pronounced them good
And I echo that,
Admiring the light that shines by night
And the sun that warms the day.
I thank you for Jesus, the Light of the World
And the Light of eternity,
For without You…..
