When God chose us as His ambassadors, he gave us a job to do. We are to witness Jesus to the world, to proclaim the good news of salvation, to bring peace, to show mercy, and to spread His grace to the whole world. John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” and that life is not the mortal one here with suffering, sin, conflict, disappointment, tears, and death. It is resurrected life for eternity praising the God who gives complete freedom in Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says: “But thanks be to God, who made us His captives and leads us along in Christ’s triumphal procession. Now, wherever we go, He uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Good News like a sweet perfume.” If ever the world needed sweet perfume rather than rancid conflict and disease, it is 2021. Let us give our lives, renewed and revitalized, wholeheartedly to Jesus so we can witness to the world. It’s obvious that man’s sinfulness has created a gulf between us and the God who will one day judge all men and women. Pray for revival, a return to civility, and governance by the commandments which put God first, which detest crime against each other, and which guide human discourse and actions. Then we can celebrate ’21, Everyone!
