Our eyes cannot “forget” what they see. That’s great when it’s a beautiful sunset or a perfect pink rose. But, the sight of thousands of immigrants in Del Rio, Texas this week, standing out in the broiling sun, and then the government’s hasty dismantling of the scene out of the public’s view is horrific. Now, these people have been shuttled off in buses and planes, yes, another airlift–this one IS to the inner parts of the United States–so that the appearance hides the reality. Today’s hymn reminds us of the beauty God provides, in sharp contrast. May it bless your day.
