Covenant Church gathered together last evening for our Coming Together event uniting the Beachside and Palm Bay campuses. It was a time of food, fellowship, worship, sharing, and testimonies. May we continue to praise our Sovereign Lord in this new day. Here is a portion of “My Psalm 201.” In particular, we bless the many in our congregation who are grieving several deaths in our body in the last few months. May we continue to praise through our tears.
ORDER
My Psalm 201
O Lord, Master of the Universe, Creator of all,
I worship Your Holy Name
And thank You for Your provision, Your protection,
For giving me life and breath.
I worship You in Spirit and in Truth,
And place my heart in Your hands
That I may serve You and dwell with You
All the days of my life, here and in Your Kingdom.
I thank You for creating order
For assurance that all is in Your Mighty Hands,
That we can know Your purpose, Your plan.
I thank You for adopting me,
Right in this time and place You assigned to me,
So that I might worship Your Name
Where and when I have breath,
That I can sing Your praises,
That I can teach Your truths to my children
And to my grandchildren,
And that You are faithful to all generations.
A career teacher, with forty years of teaching language arts/English, Betty Jackson enjoys wordsmithing, writing, and reading as a vocation and avocation.Retirement is her "age of frosting," a chance to pursue postponed hobbies with gusto. She especially sends kudos to the Space Coast Writers Guild members for their encouragement and advice. Her five books, It's a God Thing!, Job Loss: What's Next? She and her husband soon celebrate their 47th anniversary, and have lived in New York, New Jersey, Iowa, and now the paradise of Palm Bay, Florida. Their two grown children and daughter-in-love, all orchestra musicians, and our beautiful granddaughters Kaley and Emily live nearby. Hobbies, and probably future topics on her blog: gardening, symphonic music (especially supporting the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra as a volunteer and proud parent of a violinist, a cellist, and an oboist), singing, book clubs, and co-teaching a weekly small-group Bible study for seniors. She volunteers and substitute teaches at Covenant Christian School, and serves as a board member of the Best Yet Set senior group at church. Foundationally, she daily enjoys God's divine appointments called Godincidences, which show God's providence and loving kindness.
