Were it not for Ascension Day, Christianity and the impact of Jesus’s life would have been localized to the sandy location of the Middle East. In God’s infinite plan and wisdom, unlike Mohammed, Confucius, and Buddha, without Christ’s ascension into heaven as a living being, where he rules on high, we would never have experienced the power, comfort, guidance, and presence of the Holy Spirit.
Living this side of the resurrection is a joy, for we can see glimpses of God’s eternal plan which was represented mostly by hope and waiting in the Old Testament. We are privileged to see the story from creation to completion of the earth as we now know it, all through the lens of Christ’s redemptive purpose. What a privilege, and what an awesome responsibility to teach it to others.
As we worship this morning, let us rejoice that Christ reigns, and Crown Him with Many Crowns, the Lamb upon the Throne.

Their two grown children and daughter-in-love, all orchestra musicians, and our beautiful granddaughters Kaley and Emily live nearby. Hobbies, and probably future topics on her blog: gardening, symphonic music (especially supporting the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra as a volunteer and proud parent of a violinist, a cellist, and an oboist), singing, book clubs, and co-teaching a weekly small-group Bible study for seniors. She volunteers and substitute teaches at Covenant Christian School, and serves as a board member of the Best Yet Set senior group at church. Foundationally, she daily enjoys God's divine appointments called Godincidences, which show God's providence and loving kindness.
