School canceled today. Housekeeping canceled today. Why?
The hurricane has long since passed us without even a drop of rain. The sun is shining, there’s a calm tropical breeze, and they say we may have some rain this afternoon. So what’s new? We usually do have a cooling-off rain in the afternoons in summer.
What a blessing. No hurricane damage here, and from what we’re seeing, less than expected damage to the north of us. May it be so, and may we count it as blessings, or is it too soon?
Then, I read the Ephesians 3:16-18 verses again today and feel doubly blessed. Here’s what Paul wrote to the Ephesians, and I write to you and to my heart. What a blessing!
I pray that from His glorious, unlmited resources, He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.”
So while cable news is devoting all its time and resources to its latest “bad news” emphasis, the hurricane, seeking to how how wide, how long, how high, and how deep the water damage is, we can rejoice that God used this phrase to show us the important thing: it refers to God’s love for us. What a blessing. God bless your day. Keep loved ones close and Jesus even closer. Amen? Amen.
