Blessings unnumbered. Yesterday was the 35th birthday of my firstborn, Paul Loren Jackson, who has become a young man who dedicates himself to his Lord, his family, his students, his colleagues, his profession, his many friends, and to blessing others. Last night his orchestra hosted a group of 60 students from Lafayette High School in St. Louis, who played a concert with his kids at Astronaut High School. All this on his birthday!
Blessing #2. The salvation and love of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I wrote about it on Facebook.
Do you need this message today? From Jesus Calling: “I died for your sins, so that I might clothe you in My garments of salvation. This is how I see you: radiant in My robe of righteousness….Be receptive to My affirmation, which flows continually from the throne of grace.”
Blessing #3. The ability to bless others. I’m knitting my first ever prayer shawl, praying as I do for dear ones with medical issues. Idea is from this month’s Guideposts Magazine. It can become a ministry of blessing, like my Bless You Bouquets. Go to Guideposts.com/shawl for directions, although I’m doing straight knitting on mine. Perhaps I’ll start making them for others when I learn how to not drop stitches. Haven’t knitted for just years. It’s coming back, like riding bicycles, I guess
Blessing #4 Each time we’ve moved (ten of them) we’ve given away “stuff.” Some of it was really “valuable” stuff. This weekend, God is showing us the blessing of things coming to us! The Jeancakes, our marvelous worship directors recently moved here from California, are blessing Paul and Mary with a much-needed table and chairs, and our daughter Nancy with a washer and dryer. Awesome.
Blessing #5 which encompasses all of them: living a life of Thanksliving, where I choose to adopt an attitude of gratitude, for things both good and bad, since they’re all part of the Sovereign Lord’s plan for my lfie for my growth in sanctification and reliance on Him and His Promises.
