Thought I’d catch you readers up on things going on.
I now have a date, too far in the future as far as I’m concerned, for my hip surgery. Must be others out there needing this good doctor’s services. I have two full months to put up with the hip pain that keeps me awake at night and miserable during the day. I realize I’ve lived a somewhat charmed life, physically. Most of my difficulties have been fixable in a few short weeks. This has been since before Christmas.
So, I’m spending my time in sedentary things, but find it hard to concentrate on long-term projects like starting another book. I’ve written several short pieces for anthologies and such, but have begun several drafts and have let moss grow on them, so to speak. I may have completed my ten-year run. Twenty-eight books in ten years is not a bad achievement, I tell myself.
One of my big regrets is that I actually miss weeding. My garden is a mess. I’m embarrassed, but I just simply can’t bend to pull weeds. We’re beginning converations of selling the house. Not ready for that move, but it’s on the radar.
So, I guess I’m confessing inability in this post. Don’t get depressed reading it. I know foundationally that these mortal things are unimportant in the ultimate scale of things, but we do have feet of clay and sometimes minds of misdirection. So, I’m in this season, and if you haven’t gotten the WORDLE puzzle today, it pretty much sums up my attitude. It begins with A, ends with L, and explains just how I’m feeling!
Carry on. Here’s a bit of encouragement: Philippians 4:4 says: “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say again–rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.”
Now there’s a concept I can embrace.
