Seeing the world with the view of God brings us peace, comfort, and joy, and that’s what the world needs right now.
Take time to watch a sunrise. Look for the smiles in people’s eyes, even while they’re wearing masks. Look for Godincidences: stories of people’s healing and the wonders of medicine; a fine recipe that turns out right because our land is filled with good things to eat; a book sent in the mail from a friend or a gift received, just because; stories of ancestors who kept the faith in times of difficulty; a news story of someone paying a blessing forward; churches and groups who’ve embraced technology and bring their people together in distant hugs. Matthew 13:16 says, “Your eyes are blessed because they do soo, and your ears because they do hear!” God is making all things new, and we need to acknowledge His grant picture in what is happening. 2020 should have brought us back to church in huge numbers. Where else do we go to find answers? Certainly not the government. We’ve learned that! Susie Larson in Blessings for Every Day puts it this way: “May God bless your eyes so you begin to see everyone and everything redemptively. May God bless your ears so you’ll only hear words consistent with His voice and His song over your life. May God bless your heart that you may be a wellspring of life for others. And may God bless your hands and feet that you may tend to His business during your time on earth. Your life matters deeply to Him. Rest in that fact.” Now, go out and make it a great day for others, or sit at home, safely, and reach out to your family and friends with God’s peace even when our world is in turmoil. You’ll be blessed to be a blessing. Amen, not A woman.
