I’ve just published my twenty-sixth book. This is the third in a series of stories about the area where I grew up, the Hudson Valley of New York. The first, a Christian romance features a young couple, married during their first year of college, together now for ten years. They’ve earned masters and doctorate degrees, seven in all, backpacked through Europe, published books that became best sellers, and built dreams. The second and third books bring them back home to what they call paradise, where they create a living history area focusing on Mohican, Dutch and English colonial legacies. In this new book, Cortland Place on Apple Tree Lane, they bring their families together, each one using his/her God-given talents, to love the land, serve their community, teach skills on the precipice of disappearance, and at the end, wonder how COVID will affect their lives, as it has affected all of us. All three books are available as ebooks at www.bettyjackson.net and the paperback will be “live” in a few days. Learn about ice harvesting, building wigwams, longhouses, dugouts, and indigenous culture, making acorn flour and using forest resources the way our ancestors did, and making beautiful music on an old Dutch pipe organ, a Bosendorfer concert grand piano, a newly-built harpsichord, and growing crops in community gardens to benefit local food banks. With so much negativity in the world, this author is combatting it with this newest NaNoWriMo book. The first draft was completed during November, National Novel Writing Month. Now it’s almost ready to bless readers’ lives with a heaping dose of positivity. Available on Amazon.com today.
