“As the first and last of the Greek alphabet, the Alpha and Omega represent the One in whom creation began and by whom it will one day end. Its usage as an early Christian symbol is based upon Revelation 1:8: ’I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending’, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You that You are eternal. There is no beginning or end to Your Presence in our world. You are literally the A to Z, everything that is. You faithfully created the world in the Garden of Eden, and You pronounced it good.
You created all beings after You formed the heavens, the earth, the waters, the stars, sun, and moon, and all the universe where we live. You spoke it all into being, and we are grateful for the beautiful world You have created.
But even more, we thank You for the promise of eternity with You after we live our lives on earth, for because of Christmas, because You brought Jesus to us, we will live in a perfect world once again, because You are writing the end of the story as well.
Thank You for Jesus’ love for us, his sacrifice, and His Presence. In His Eternal Name. Amen.
