Covenant Church is doing a project called Isolation Olympics. One of the activities is to take a prayer walk in your neighborhood and leave a present on the doorstop. This is a letter I wrote my neighbors. Thought you might like to do something similar in your neighborhoos.
Hi. We’re Betty and Ev Jackson. We live at 298 Sawyer Street surrounded by greenery, the house with the rock wall in front.
Our church, Covenant Presbyterian (covenantpalmbay.org) is doing a fun activity this week and next. It’s called Isolation Olympics. Families and individuals are part of a Facebook page and are doing some neat activities. I’m choosing to introduce us to you, neighbors on a prayer walk this morning.
I taught Language arts for forty years. Ev’s a retired engineer. He enjoys model railroading, gardening and volunteering at church and for Space Coast Symphony Orchestra.
I write books. You may visit my website at bettyjackson.net.
If you’re looking for a church home, we recommend ours. Covenant Church livestreams our Sunday services at 10:30 on Facebook and from the website at covenantpalmbay.org. We have, usually, activities for children of all ages, some of them remotely right now. We thought you should know.
One of our activities today was a prayer walk, where I left you this message. We love our neighborhood, rejoice that we will finally have a paved road, and want to be good neighbors to you. My email is bjack2723@aol.com and our phone is 321-726-9562. We monitor our calls, so leave a message if we don’t recognize your number and we’ll return the call. Blessings on your day.
Betty and Ev Jackson
A career teacher, with forty years of teaching language arts/English, Betty Jackson enjoys wordsmithing, writing, and reading as a vocation and avocation.Retirement is her "age of frosting," a chance to pursue postponed hobbies with gusto. She especially sends kudos to the Space Coast Writers Guild members for their encouragement and advice. Her five books, It's a God Thing!, Job Loss: What's Next? A Step by Step Action Plan, and Bless You Bouquets: A Memoir, And God Chose Joseph: A Christmas Story, and Rocking Chair Porch: Summers at Grandma's are available at Amazon.com. Ms. Jackson is available to speak to local groups and to offer her books at discount for fundraising purposes at her discretion. She and her husband soon celebrate their 47th anniversary, and have lived in New York, New Jersey, Iowa, and now the paradise of Palm Bay, Florida. Their two grown children and daughter-in-love, all orchestra musicians, and our beautiful granddaughters Kaley and Emily live nearby. Hobbies, and probably future topics on her blog: gardening, symphonic music (especially supporting the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra as a volunteer and proud parent of a violinist, a cellist, and an oboist), singing, book clubs, and co-teaching a weekly small-group Bible study for seniors. She volunteers and substitute teaches at Covenant Christian School, and serves as a board member of the Best Yet Set senior group at church. Foundationally, she daily enjoys God's divine appointments called Godincidences, which show God's providence and loving kindness.
