Just finished reading Glenn Beck and Harriet Parke’s Agenda 21 about a futuristic society resulting from excessive governmental interference in individuals’ lives, and the apathetic and uninformed citizens who permitted it to happen. Like Hunger Games, it may be prophetic, and concerned Americans need to notice the liberties we are losing with every new regulation and proposal and tacked on amendments to otherwise acceptable legislation. I address this theme, to a certain extent, in my book, It’s a God Thing!, because I think we are quickly approaching the prophesied Armageddon. As a Christian, I know who wins the ultimate battle, but with the thousands of persecuted Christians in the world, the evidence of widespread extremist terrorists who call us infidels, and the assaults on our cherished democratic liberties, we all need awareness and shaking from our complacency.
In my book, I suggest the dreaded marking of citizens with the symbol 666 occurs in this way. You know what I’m talking about, right? In Revelation the prediction is that anyone who wishes to trade, buy goods, own property, or just plain exist, must have the
mark of the beast. Christ’s followers are urged to pledge their allegiance only to Christ.
In the book, I have the phrase citizen of the united states of america lasered on all citizens’ foreheads, even newborns’. In the script, the letter a is a written 6. It works also for United Nations affiliate, United Arab Emirates, Canada, etc. Could something just that innocuous be used by the devil to steal our allegiance to Christ. Indeed, it could.
Rest assured, we need to be watchful, for indeed the devil is wandering among us, seeking whom he may consume, and sometimes he just might assume the persona of governmental regulations.
While Hunger Games and Agenda 21 and other attempts at Utopian/Alien/government cradle to grave supremacy over individual freedoms films, tv shows, and books may sound a bit far-fetched, they should be waking us from our stupor and giving us just a little pause. We should be noticing the slow but steady erosion of individual liberty at the hand of executive orders, restrictions on movement, court decisions, and socialistic programs which invade our privacy each day, it seems.
How do we counter all this?
1. Be informed
2. Be aware and use the intelligence we have to make connections
3. Be the squeaky wheel who keeps our representatives accountable
4. Be the one who writes Letters to the Editors and speaks truth
5. Be in constant prayer
Certainly, all is not lost. But it could be!
Here’s the encouraging part, in the words of John Phelps, one of the major characters in IaGT, quoted from page 15:
“People, make Him the lord of your life. Surrender all that you have, all that you are, all that you plan to be, and turn it all over to Jesus’ capable hands. He’ll open the roads and pathways. He’ll guide you like no self-help book here on earth will. Just give Him the opportunity to reign in your person, and He’ll make you ready for any challenge you can imagine. There’s no one or ever will there be who can be trusted like Jesus can.”
