We spent a delightful morning touring The Merritt Island National Refuge yesterday with the family. Although we didn’t see the flamingos, we remarked at the beauty of the sky, the hundreds of shades of green and the gorgeous textures of the well-watered landscape, took many pictures, and enjoyed, as anticipated, our lovely lunch together at Dixie Crossroads. We’re never disappointed.
I had only four phone call discussions regarding our efforts to get my sister Dorothy relocated. It’s one delay after another, one roadblock or bump in the road, and loads of blame to go around. I chose not to think about it all and try to enjoy the day. Ev an I are trying to avoid the political fray of character assassination, statements from both sides that are not exactly true, and the stuff behind the scenes which the public should know about. I’m no doomsday theorist, but there are what my dad called shenanigans going on in Washington. Here’s one: https://www.ncronline.org/news/justice/us-bishops-support-immigration-provisions-35-trillion-spending-bill. While the Constitution separates church and state as one of its provisions, the Catholic church, disguised as an NGO (non-governmental organization) receives BILLIONS of dollars annually and wields immense sway under the Biden administration, ostensibly to aid illegal immigrants, under the surface, there is controversy over how the network actually works to get a quick path to citizenship and voting rights.

Furthermore, the article suggests some branches of this network involves human smuggling and placement of illegal immigrants in any community in the country under the guise of helping those in need.
I wish the American public understood what I’ve discovered regarding the horrible consequences of the illegal migration crisis. I include part of an article I researched, continue to pray for wisdom for our leaders, and wish the public knew about this fact. The outcome of this election is so important, yet many people think it’s a popularity contest.
Read and weep for our nation;
Catholic organizations are among the top recipients of federal immigration funds. Between 2008-2022, Catholic charitable organizations received approximately $3 billion in federal funding. The USCCB acts as a kind of general contractor. It is the single largest grantee of subawards in the nation. For example, Catholic Charities receives direct funding from the USG but also subawards from the USCCB. According to Forbes, in 2022 Catholic Charities USA was the 13th-largest U.S. charity. Of $4.7 billion in total revenues, Catholic Charities received $1.4 billion from government support.
In short, the globalist Left and the Biden Administration are hiding behind faith-based organizations to keep federal grants flowing to assist illegal immigration and to deflect from the horrific criminal results. Meanwhile, it is clear many Catholic charities benefit financially from their participation in—and promotion of—illegal immigration
Shouldn’t Catholic charitable organizations devote themselves to the problems of poverty, lack of education, inequality, unemployment, and poor health care in the illegal immigrants’ countries of origin instead of helping criminals break U.S. law and transform our country?
Rather, it appears that once again, it all comes back to money.

My second revelation came after we enjoyed a bit of TV last night, watching a cooking show, and after Nancy left, from 8:10-9:00 we watched an already-seen Hallmark movie. I wanted nothing to do with politics and controversy. Between 9:10 and about 9:17, I counted six ads in a row. Realyl, I thought. So, my curiosity was aroused. I started counting the number of ads, which was excessive–most of them ten seconds or less except for Spectrum and Publix ones. There were, and I counted, fifty-one ads comprising more time than the movie! In disgust, we turned off the “entertainment.” I furthermore thought, or am I wrong, there was a regulation that advertising cannot be louder than the programming. Isn’t that right? Why are the Spectrum ads so loud? We’re aware of them because living in a community, now, we never want to impact our neighbors’ peace and quiet.
Remembering the joy of the first part of the day, we said to each other, “It was all in a day! “
