It’s that time of year again. Where has the year gone? Do you realize that six months from today is Christmas Eve?
I have, what I think, is the best birthdate ever–exactly six months from Christmas. My birthday is tomorrow, and 1940 is ridiculously long ago, isn’t it? My how time flies. It’s a time of reflection, I suppose. Who would have thought that this birthday I’d be starting homemaking all over again in yet another setting? Two of my birthdays were graduation days, one was a prom night, on one, Ev and I pledged our lives to each other and began our engagement, and one was the start of the Korean War. But most were just ordinary summer wonderful days. My mom told me my name means God’s gift of summer sunshine. That has always brought me happy thoughts. In the north, the end of June is the end of school years and the beginning of summer vacation.
It is also exactly six months from Christmas, so let me be the first to wish you and yours a merry Christmas when we celebrate God’s greatest gift to the world, and its salvation
