This morning there are Sunday School teachers, youth leaders, parents, pastors, congregations, and indeed all thinking Christians mourning the deaths of students in Oregon. Those precious young people who stood up for their faith in Christ are to be celebrated, for they are victorious martyrs, wearing white robes in the throne room of the Most High, joining with others throughout the ages whose faith was tested to the ultimate loss of their early lives.
In my book, It’s a God Thing!, I have several chapters in which a young Indonesian boy risks all, his livelihood, his family, his very life, to rescue three young Americans captured by Islamic extremists in Indonesia. If you haven’t read it yet, I urge you to do so.
Should we Christians who remain in this free society do any less? I am suggesting our churches should rise up now to rescue fleeing Middle East Christian families from certain doom at the hand of extremists who are seeking to annihilate them.
