When I began writing original Psalms, I sometimes based them on passages from the Biblical book of Psalms. This is My Psalm 152 based on Psalm 9:10 which reads: “Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You.”
From my book, My Psalms Devotional Guide and Beyond Easter: Ascension and Pentecost” My Psalm 152:
O Lord, my Lord
Almighty and Holy and Just,
Creator, Sustainer,
My ever-Present,
Alpha and Omega,
My Lord:
I bow my very being
Heart, soul, mind, and strength
To Your Name.
For You have known me
before the dawn of the first day.
You knew me and knit me and held me
In my mother’s womb
Intimately, numbering each cell and sinew,
Until You opened my eyes
To Your world’s magnificence.
You prepared safe places for me to walk,
Music for me to hear,
Sights for me to see
Hills for me to climb
Your sons and daughters to love me,
Teach me, comfort me, grow me, lead me
Until you were ready to call me.
Use me, bless me with Your Spirit
That I may bless others You send to me.
Without You, I am restless
Until You daily call me to Your Presence.
Because You love me
You gave Your precious Son
So I could be Your daughter
Eternally.
I shall serve You
And love You
And praise You
For who Your are
And who I am in You. Amen.
