My Psalm 176 June 25, 2016
O Lord, My Lord, My Savior, My King,
I thank You for Your lovingkindness,
Your tender mercy, Your forgiveness,
Your guiding hand, Your faithfulness.
When in my ignorance, I lived as I pleased,
You brought me to my senses and lead me home.
When I was willful and disobedient,
You taught me the beginning of wisdom
Is seeking You and Your purpose for my being.
When I sought the good rather than the best,
You showed me humility in excellence.
When I traveled through the shadow of death
And knew discouragement, despair, and depression,
You granted me peace and hope and light.
When I yearned for love and acceptance
You provided a mate and children, a legacy.
When I couldn’t find my path and wandered in doubt,
You lit the way through Your Spirit’s indwelling.
When I couldn’t find the words to pray,
You interceded for me, and became my Presence.
When I complained and fretted and griped
You taught me thanksliving and an attitude of gratitude,
When all was confusion and chaos and clanging cymbals,
You brought me to still waters and huge lakes of love.
And most of all, when my “I” was huge because of sin,
You provided a Savior and chose me to know
The Great I Am who is all things wonderful to me.
All praise, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
For preserving this life here and in eternity. Amen.
