My Psalm 185
To You, O Lord, Who gave me eyes to see,
I thank You and bless Your Name.
For giving me the joy
Of seeing dark star-studded skies
Turn to the ribboned dawn of sunrise,
I thank You and bless Your Name.
For painting the panoply of horizon
As far as eye can see
With pastel hues in swaths of beauty
I thank You and bless Your Name.
For the promise of the rose bud
So tightly balled, encased in a green shell
To yellows tinged with pink
As if held in Your hand, opening and welcoming
Nested, cupped, emitting aromas of cinnamon,
I thank You and bless Your Name.
For letting me watch the billowing clouds
From light wisps to formidable thunderheads
And for the glistening raindrops You send
To water Your earth
I thank You and bless Your Name.
For the faces of those I love,
Your greatest creation,
From tiny pink babe to my lover’s wrinkles,
I thank You and bless Your Name.
For giving me glimpses of the yet to be,
Where eye cannot see or ear hear
The wonders prepared for those
Who love You as I do,
I thank You and bless Your Name.
In the joy of Jesus. Amen.
