Oh, my aching body! I’m feeling aches I’ve never felt! Yesterday, with the help of Sherry MacLean, we weeded and mulched the front gardens, hung beautiful hanging baskets filled with flowers and vines, Ev and Nancy dismantled a room-sized railroad, Desmond Almarales, bless his heart, put new screening on the back porch in 90 plus degree heat, and Lind Almarales took a carload of things to Goodwill. The realtor sign and lockbox arrived. Just when we were about to collapse for a night’s rest, fireworks for Juneteenth pounded our tired ears, and the power went out for a while during a violent thunder storm. That meant resetting clocks and cats who couldn’t quite figure out what was going on. It was quite a day.
Today, I’ll finish the gardens, God willing, the railroad will disappear, the cleaning lady is coming at 5:00 and photos will be taken tomorrow. Will we be ready? Only in God’s strength. We’re counting on it.
