One of the things I struggle with in my faith is to not judge others, a natural tendency for sinful people. The Bible warns against judging others, since we too will be judged. As a teacher, I judged my students’ abilities sat in numerous forums where awards were being decided, judged competitions, and was called upon to evaluate curricular materials, vote for or against major deciding issues, and, as a citizen, I evaluate (judge) candidates for office.
I admire those with gifts I do not possess. I have a sister who leaves a trail of sincere friends everywhere she travels. I see performers with millions of fans, and now, with the internet, we see people who call themselves “influencers” with millions of “hits” or viewers, or followers, or “fans.” I’ve never wanted to be in that league.
We come by “judging” naturally. When God created aspects of the world, He pronounced each portion as good. When we raise our children, we tell them “good job!” as they accomplish walking, or bringing home excellent work from school, or perform on stage.
Yesterday, I saw a young man, a self-proclaimed transvestite, say his proudest moment will be when he receives a uterus, has free sex, gets pregnant, and then has the privilege of aborting that baby. Imagine. In the book of 2 Timothy in the Bible, we are told the world will be as chaotic as ours is today. Only Christ can save us. Chapter 3 says:
