Sharing the Plenty in 2020:I don’t know about you, but this isolation thing has not been good for me regarding the verse I’m sharing today. I started out with good intentions, trying hard to keep connected to my Christian friends (and others) but have been distracted by “home” things and have not always used my time wisely. I’ve concentrated on finishing writing three books, (only one of which is nearing completion because Kaley’s birthday is next week and I have a DEADline). Yes, we’ve zoomed, but it’s just not the same. I am thrilled that we can attend church service, separated, alas, on Sunday, and some of us did a “dry run” last Sunday. And facebook messages have been plentiful. But, I’m convicted by this verse. I want to be an encourager, and that has been difficult. I’ll try to be better at John’s goal for me. “But anyone who loves other Christians is walking in the light and does not cause anyone to stumble. Those who reject other Christians are wandering n spiritual darkness and don’t know where they are going, for the darkness has made them blind.” (1 John 2:11-12). Therefore, I’m convicted by this, especially in thinking about and praying for my single and widowed friends who indeed have been alone for a very long time. I should have sent cards, remembered to call them, sent them messages of hope so that they knew I care. I’m not good at isolation, I’ve learned. I tend to withdraw into satisfying my selfishness and dwelling on depressing things like, “I wish I could” grievances. I’ve been stuck in my own little world too long. How about you?
