My Psalm 8052020
Heavenly Father, Almighty God, Abba Father,
Hear my prayer for our world this day.
We are a needy people, wandering sheep who have lost our way.
You have shown us, taught us, led us, loved us, saved us
And we are still prone to wondering, to seeking self over You
And finding ourselves in weeds and brambles,
Not the sweet pastures and still waters You planned for us.
Forgive our trespassing where we have no business going.
Forgive us for delighting in the things of this world
Rather than following You on straight paths with narrow gates..
Feast our eyes on Your Presence
And take us from the lesser things we are experiencing.
Grow us up once more as You did when we first believed,
To trust You as the childhood baby steps
Until we were able to eat the meat of the Gospel.
Humble us, take away the pretenses and suppositions
That burden us under heavy loads
And return us to the passion we had for Your simple Gospel truth.
Grow us in wisdom, in service, in sitting at Your feet
And listening to Your instruction.
Let us once more find joy in every message
Where Your Word is a lighted lamp,
Where every parable enriches our understanding,
Where every miracle points us to You
Where every challenge is met by Your people
Obeying Your orders to them in unwavering service
To the King of King and Lord of Lords.
Grant us new eyes to see Your plan for us
As we rededicate ourselves to serving You
And witnessing to others of Your power, Your presence,
Your love, Your guidance, Your plan, and Your peace.
Renew us, give us new perspectives,
Use us to revive ourselves and others to Your service
To a world that for too long has turned from Your Presence.
Start this journey with me, then with others who love you
And seek to bring Your message to a hurting world
So needing Your message this day.
In the strong Name of Jesus Whom we serve,
The symbol of Your love to save the world.
