I am living proof that this verse from Deuteronomy is not just for Moses’ and Joshua’s time. It is sustaining us in this transitional move. It says: 8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
We’ve signed our lease, we’re ready to move, and with the help of family and so many friends, it’s our new reality once the “literal” dust has settled, the boxes are packed and unpacked, and we can finally say, “We’re home!”
We leave behind great memories of this, our supposedly “forever home,” except that we’re moving for the eleventh time! I share some pictures of the place where we’ve welcomed friends, family, grandchildren, and those who have loved us well here. We’re hoping to gather new friends to our lives as well. Met a receptionist yesterday named Jekoliah, from 2 Kings chapter 15. Can’t wait to get to know her better. She told us she was adopted and her new mother wanted to give her an unusual name from the Bible. All we know is that she raised her son Azariah well. He became a king and reigned fifty-two years and did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Amaziah had done.
Praying that God’s presence is very real for you today. We’ll need Him as we pack and plan. Have a blessed day.
