Day 27
I am honored to think that my words might influence others. The joy of writing has become almost an addiction to me in my retirement. I have much to say, much until now left unsaid. I have an attitude of gratitude in thinking I might be used to bless someone else’s life, just as mine has been enriched by other writers who have influenced me. In that, I take great pleasure.
Today’s Scripture: “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. . . If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him.” (Luke 11: 9-13)
Prayer: Whenever I come to you, Dear Heavenly Father, I know I am speaking to the Lord of the Universe, yet Your word tells me I am escorted into Your throne room in heaven because Christ is my intercessor and the Holy Spirit guides me to ask, with thanksgiving, for Your blessing. What a marvelous thought. Thank You. Amen.
Day 27 Scripture references showing God’s creativity and His sharing that part of His image with me.
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; (Genesis 1:27)
“My tongue will speak of Your righteousness and of Your praises all day long.” (Psalm 35:28)
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth, and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything because He himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are His offspring.’” (Acts 17: 24-28)
“The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him. In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.” (I Corinthians 2: 10-13)
Day 27: Thanksliving Album: Items, pictures, sketches, photos of God’s blessing on my writing and creativity, a legacy of memories, a place I’ll return when I need reminders of evidence of His love for me in every situation.
Day 27 Thanksliving Journal: for creativity and the sense of purpose I see in self-expression to God’s glory.
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.” (I Peter 4: 10-11)
