Day 6
I choose to live with an attitude of gratitude for the big things, such as my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrificial Presence with me, and for the little personal things which affect my moment in time/history but have eternal consequences. Even the difficult days become testimonies to His guidance.
What, then, does the Bible say about gratitude? There are at least 30 references to giving thanks and offering thanksgiving in a quick overview of concordance references. It is clear that thanks and thanksgiving, or thanksliving as I like to call it, is to be practiced in response to God’s gift of our lives, our circumstances, our very being, not to mention, our salvation for which He paid dearly.
Today’s Scripture: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.” (Romans 12: 14-17)
Prayer: Lord, let me live a life of thanksliving, intentionally following Your way in dealing with people, issues, my job, my family, associates, and those random people You place in my life, even for an instant. In Jesus’ Name and for His glory, Amen.
Day 6 Scripture passages regarding thanking God for His blessings on my life:
“I thank God, whom I serve, as my forefathers did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy.” (I Timothy 1:3)

Nehemiah dedicates the wall, using two choirs giving thanks from opposite sides: Nehemiah 12: 31-40)
“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (II Corinthians 9:14)
“Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23: 6)
“I will give You thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise You.” (Psalm 35:18)
