The last few days have been filled with evidences of the Lord’s blessings shown to me through reading the word, meeting with other Christians, and answers to prayer.
Let me share some personal accounts of God’s significant power.
We are told in Philippians to not worry, to trust God, and God will meet all our needs according to his purposes.
Why, then, did I spend two sleepless nights concerned about two medical diagnoses examinations on Tuesday?
Of course, my head was swimming with the “what if’s?” But I should have known with my heart what my head already knows. “My God will meet ALL your needs acccording to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:19) That means ALL.
I need not worry. God controls all and answers prayer.
A friend has been holding me accountable for praying for a friend of hers suffering from heart disease, cancer, and blindness caused by the doctors prescription of a harmful medication. The cancer has shown remarkable retreat, thanks to prayer, and this week, this individual’s brother came to visit unexpectedly; they had not seen each other in several years. When the brother arrived, this man was in the throes of a heart attack. The brothers presence and quick action revived him, got him to the hospital where stents were inserted and the man came home yesterday after a two day stay, much the better for the occurrence of God’s perfect timing. God is present in the affairs of his saints and indeed answers prayer.
A friend who has a severe brain injury following an accident is learning to lean on the Lord, and is seeing definable progress in her struggles. She merely needs the encouragement of the women around her to remind her of her amazing progress in the last two years. We need to build up others, or as St. Paul says, spur others onward in their race.
Our missions conference over the weekend showed just how merciful the Lord is in sending servants and materials to unsaved regions of the world. Our church has helped plant fifteen churches in the last year and has seen rapid growth in the number of believers–some 500 in the last year alone. Now they are being discipled by well equipped leaders.
God is working in this fallen world. I pray constantly for the President and our leaders that they would follow Christ’s principles in this fallen world. May it be so.
